Our website is regularly, not to say continuously, subjected to hacker attacks of various kinds. This has been going on for many years, nearly from the date that it was established. Apparently, there are a substantial number of Muslims for whom ‘freedom of speech’ is not a concept they value highly.
Given the constant and sometimes high-powered attacks against the server, we are grateful for our dedicated system administrator, and for the fantastic service provided by the company that hosts our server. Despite the pressure, our site has been available nearly without fail for more than four years now.
In a number of Islamic countries the government is blocking access to this site. Well, at least they try. On the other hand, there are Muslim groups which are actively seeking to shut down or destroy Answering Islam. After the latest such attack we have now decided to finally document some of these acts of Cyber Terrorism.
