Muslims have always said that Jesus neither suffered crucifixion nor death on the cross. They claim that he was saved from any ill-treatment and another person (who could have been Judas the Iscariot or one of the Apostles) was the one who suffered crucifixion and death.
While I was going through Bukhari, I stumbled upon this Hadeeth:-
Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 84, Number 63:
Narrated 'Abdullah:As if I am looking at the Prophet while he was speaking about one of the prophets whose people have beaten and wounded him, and he was wiping the blood off his face and saying,
"O Lord! Forgive my people as they do not know."
I thought that it was a strange coincidence, since Luke 23:34 says:-
This makes you wonder who this "one of the prophets whose people have beaten and wounded him" could be.
Of course, Muslims would say that it is just one of the thousands of prophets God sent, but definitely NOT Jesus, since Jesus was never crucified. But the similarities between the two phrases spoken is too close for it to be a mere coincidence.
I guess that if an unbiased person looks at the Hadeeth and the verse from Luke he will immediately conclude that they were spoken by the same person, and that person was Jesus, the Jesus who died for us on that cross to obtain the forgiveness of all our sins.
The question here is, will we believe in his death on the cross for us or will we deny it?
