The Qadiriyya is third largest Sufi tariqa in China. It claims about 1.5% of the Hui people. This tariqa has not been as popular in China as the Naqshbandi-Jahriyya, or the Naqshbandi-Khufiyya. This may be because the Naqshbandis emphasize living a normal life within Chinese society, whereas the Qadiris emphasize ascetic withdrawal from society.
