He had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might
become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God. (Hebrews

Ar Rahim	The One who is compassionate	(All Surahs except one)	

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were
harrassed and helpless. (Mt 9:38)

Al Malik	The King who rules over all	 (Surah 59:23)

The Lamb will overcome them because he is the Lord of Lords and King of
kings (Rev 17:14)

Al Quddus	The Holy One	(Surah 59:23)	

We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God. (John 6:69)

As Salam	The Peace	(Surah 59:23)

God was pleased through him to reconcile to himself all things by making

Al Mu'min	The One who can be trusted	(Surah 59:23)

Al Mutakabbir	The One who has every reason to be proud	(Surah 59:23)

Al Kahliq	The Creator of all things	(Surah 59:24)

By him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible
and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities.

Al Bari		The One who brings all things into being	(Surah 59:24)

Al Musawwir	 The Designer and Fashioner of all things	(Surah 59:24)

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of

Al Ghaffar   The One who forgives and pardons	(not in Quran)

The Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. (Mark 2:10)

Al Qahhar	The Powerful Avenger	(Surah 13:17)

The Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful

Al Wahhab	The Giver of gifts	(Surah 3:6)

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--now will

Ar Razzaq	The Provider of daily food	(Surah 51:58)

Al Fattah	The One who opens all closed things	(Surah 34: )

Al 'Alim	The Omnicient One

Al Qabiz	The Restrainer or Constrainer 

What he opens, no one can shut; and what he shuts, no one can open.

Al Basit	The Spreader and Expander	 (Surah 3:25)

Al Khafiz	The One who abases

Ar Rafi'	The One who exalts

Al Mu'izz	The One who honors	(Surah 3:25)

Whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge

Al Muzil	The One who debases	 (Surah 3:25)

He who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God

As Sami'		The One who hears all	

Since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of
Jesus and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us

Al Basir	The One who sees all		

His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. (Rev

Al Hakam	The One who settles all disputes		

The Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son.

Al 'Adl		The Just and Righteous One	

You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be
released to you. (Acts 3:14)

Al Latif	The Tenderly Kind One	(Surah 6:103)	

So that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his
grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.  (Ephesians 2:7)

Al Khabir	The One who is aware of all	 (Surah 6:103)

All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son

to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. (Matt 11:27)

Al Halim	The Meek and Lowly One	(Surah 2:225)

Who being in the very nature God, did not consider equality with God
soething to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature
of a servant, being made in human likeness. (Phil 2:8)

Al 'Adhim	The Great and Mighty One	

Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand--with

Al Ghafur	The One who forgives sin	(Surah 2:225)

Al Kabir	The Grand and Eminent One	(Surah 34:22)

Al Hafidh	The Guardian and Protector	

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish: no one can snatch

Al Jalil	The Glorious and Majestic One

Al Karim	The Generous and Magnanimous One	(Surah 55:78)

Ar Raqib	The One who watches over his own	(Surah 4:1)

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me. He will

Al Mujib	The One who answers prayer	(Surah 11:64)

You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it. (John 14:14)

Al Wasi'	The All-encompassing One	(Surah 2:248)

Al Hakim	The One who knows all things (Surah 2:123)

To those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power

Al Wudud	The Loving One	

God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Al Majid	The One worthy of all glory and honor	(Surah 11:76)

We see Jesus...crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death.

Ash Shahid	The One who gives witness for or against	(Surah 3:93)

These are the word of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler
of God's creation. (Rev 3:14)

Al Haqq		The True, the Genuine One	  

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me. (John 14:6)

Al Wakil	The One who pleads for and defends others	(Surah 4:83)

We have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the
Righteous One. (I John 2:1)

Al Qaui		The Strong and Powerful One 	(Surah 11:69)

All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. (Matthew 28:18)

Al Matin	The Immovable and Unchanging One 	(Surah 51:58)

No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is
Jesus Christ. (I Cor 3:11)

Al Wali		The One who is as close as a friend  (Surah 2:114)

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his
friends. (John 15:13)

Al Hamid	The One who is worthy of praise and adoration	(Surah 11:76)

To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and
glory and power, for ever and ever! (Revelation 5:13)

Al Munsi	The One who keeps records	(Surah 36:11)

All whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to
the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. (Revelation

Al Hayy		The Living One

Al Qaiyum	The Self-subsisting One		(Surah 3:1)

As the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have

Al Mubdi	The Source and Beginning of all things

Al Mu'id	The One who restores all things	

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new
has come! (II Corin. 5:17)

Al Baith	The One who raises the dead		

A time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of
the Son of God and those who hear will live.  (John 5:25)

Al Muhyi	The Giver of Life	(Surah 30:49)

The Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. (John 5:21)

Al Mumit	The Giver of death 	(Surah 2:26)

I hold the keys of death and hades. (Revelation 1:18)

Al Wajid	The Great Discoverer and Inventor	

You killed the Author of life. (Acts 3:15) Let us fix our eyes on Jesus,
the author and perfecter of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)

Al Majed	The Grand and Glorious One 	(Surah 11:76)

Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before

Al Wahid	The Unique and Only One		(Surah 2:158)

I and the Father are one.  (John 10:30)

Al Wahad	The Solitary One     

There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ
Jesus. (II Timothy 2:5)

As Samad	The One who continues forever	(Surah 112)

Jesus Christ is the same uesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

Al Qadir	The Powerful One	(Surah 2:19)

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity
so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of
death--that is, the devil--and free those who all their lives were held
in slavery by their fear of death. (Hebrews 2:14, 15)

Al Muqtadir	 The One who prevails over all others	(Surah 18:43)

Having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle
of them, triumphing over them by the cross.  (Colossians 2:15)

Al Muqaddim	  The One who is before all things   

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the
beginning and the first born from among the dead, so that in everything
he might have the supremacy. (Colossians 1:17,18)

Al Mu'akhkhir	The One who delays action

They will say, "where is this coming he promised?" The Lord is not slow
in keeping his promise. He is patient with you, not wanting any to
perish. (I Peter 3:4, 9)

Al Awwal	The First	

I am the Alpha and Omega, I am the first and the last.  (Revelation 1:8,
17)

Al Akhir	The Last

I am the first and the last, the Beginning and the Ending. (Revelation
22:13)

Az Zahir	The One who is most evident		(Surah 58:3)

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even
those who pierced him. (Revelation 1:7)

Al Batin	The One who is most hidden	(Surah 58:3)

The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is
now disclosed to the saints...which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Al Wali		The One who governs over all	(Surah 13:12)

To bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even
Christ. (Ephesians 1:10)

Al Mutali	The Highest and Most Exhalted One	(Surah 13:10)

The Word became flesh and lived for a while among us. We have seen his
glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full
of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

Al Barr		The One who only does good

We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)

At Tawwab	The One who relents from judgment and happily forgives (Surah
2:35; 9:105)

God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his
blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his
forbearance he had left sins committed beforehand unpunished. (Romans
3:25)

Al Muntaqim		The One who will avenge all wrongs done	(Surah 32:22)

When the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blaxing fire with his
powerful angels, he will punish those who do not know God. (II Thess. 1:
7,8)

Al 'Afuw	The One who pardons and cancels sin		(Surah 4:51)

Jesus is able to save completely those who come to God through him,
because he always lives to intercede for them. (Hebrews 7:25)

Ar Ra'uf	The Kind and Friendly One	(Surah 2:138)

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after

Malik al Mulk	The King over every earthly kingdom		(Surah 3:25)

Jesus Christ, the ruler of the kings of the earth. (Revelation 1:5)

Dhu al Jalal wa al Ikram	The One to whom all majesty and honor belongs
(Surah 55:78)

Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain to receive honor and glory and praise.

Al Muqsit	The One who deals with all on an equal basis	

This was the true light that gives light to every man who comes into the

Al Jami'	The One who gathers together

Where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. (Matt

Al Ghani	The One who is free from all wants and needs	(Surah 60:6)

Al Mughni	The One who supplies others needs	(Surah 4:129)

Adh Dharr	The One who gives Satan permission to afflict men

An Nafi'	The One who adds benefits and blessings to life	

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John
10:10)

An Nur		The Light of heaven and earth	(Surah 24:35)

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in
darkness. (John 8:12)

Al Hadi		The One who leads and guides in safe paths

He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought
out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him
because they know his voice. (John 10:3,4)

Al Badi'	The One who is incomparably new and original	(Surah 2:111)

When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at
his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority. (Matthew 7:28,

Al Baqi		The One who remains and endures forever	

I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and

Al Warith	The Heir of all things	

In these last days God has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed

Ar Rashid	The One who directs toward perfection	(Surah 11:80)
